I don't have a lot to write about. Summer's here. Its freakin hot. So hot that one of my snow pea plants died. I was looking forward to those too. Tomatoes, cilantro, basil, and jalapenos are all looking good and my cucumber plant is pretty cool too. Last week it got over 110 over here. The kids were crazy and I was grumpy, bad combo.

The new scotch is nice. I like it.

And of course... Wanna race?

I caught a shark. Decent sized one too. Not like the ones we used to catch off Huntington Pier. Too bad the thing didn't count for the biggest catch pool on the boat. But I will admit, being last minute and as "Sherwin-esque" as can possible be... it was a good call to go on that boat. I had a fun time out there with the dudes, doing dude stuff.

Can't wait for the summer to go out on the water some more. Fo sho, fo sho... gonna do that fo sho. What was cool this time was I got to sit in with the Captain and talk fish and navigation with her in the "bridge." Checked out all the gizmos and that sonar readings. Very cool stuff. Man I wonder if fish know they're under surveilance like that. But in the words of the late, great Mitch Hedberg... "Fish are always eating other fish. If fish could scream, the ocean would be loud as $hit. All you would hear is “Awww f**k! I thought I looked like that rock!”

Yeah... over the winter break while at my Mom's place I didn't check my Yahoo e-mail. I come back after a few days and log in and there were 2344 junk emails. Two thousand three hundred and forty-four. What the F?!

And then there are other things that are cool. Like playing PSP games para libre and calling the cops on dumb-asses smoking out on a playground full of kids. Another cool thing is playing with power tools and spending your day off at Home Depot. And with that in mind I will share my thoughts.... to me, Home Depot is to Lowes as Target is to Walmart. Yes, thats what I said. I don't like Lowes. Its too clean. To me if you're going to a place that sells building materials, it better damn well smell like building materials. Lumber, concrete dust, sheet rock and paint thinner.

But anyway. I keep telling myself that I need to get back into taking some pictures. So, while cooking my dinner tonight I snapped some shots. Nothing fancy or thought provoking, in fact its not even all that creative. Its meat and it was delicious.

So, while cooking dinner I had the difficult task of picking out a movie to watch. And with all that was said and done, it had to be Super Bad. HELLS YEAH it had to be Super Bad!

What else? I suck at laser tag.

Haven't posted since last year. Get it? Last year? Funny, Ha Ha. No? Yeah, I'm rather low on material here. Winter break went by too fast and the current workload isn't going by fast enough. The things I wanna do seem to get scrubbed at the last minute due to weather, and whenever I get a chance to catch up, something else comes along.

As phor the photo thing, I'm in one of those slumps. Not real happy with the results. No motivation. Plus I need an eye exam. Anyways, snaps from the past few weeks.

We ate seafood, a lot of seafood.

We all bonded... permanently.

And we climbed a mountain.

And so awaits another Monday morning.

... and I was like, "Hey man, you can't do that to him! (A) Monkey's are vegetarians, and (B) you're not old enough to drive."

So, I'm pretty stoked about getting a new computer. My old one lasted me a pretty long time and admittedly its still a decent machine and will probably go downstairs to hook up with the tele as an E-machine or a server... or both. But yeah, with all my going number of toys like the cameras and the miniDV, my AMD 1.2 was struggling. So I went to the computer fair on the weekend and got me a complete machine for under 2 hundred. P4 2.8, a gig of RAM and a 256 vid card. So far, SO good.

The winter recess is coming up for me... thank god. (should god be capitalized? god is a name... but its a name for which he/she is all encompassing and in all things according to the book. and by being all things, by definition is a common noun and therefor NOT capitalized.) Anyway. Yeah, vacation. Doesn't ever seem like vacation for me though. Everytime I have a break, a long weekend, or just a day off it seems like theres always something to do thats work. House stuff, my Mom's house stuff, re-flooring the in-law's house, painting some kids room. in the 2.5 weeks I have off, I'm looking forward to 3 days, everything else is gonna kinda be on the fly.

1) Christmas with the cousins... all of them. Well, 95% of them. It'll be the first time all of us will be together since 2004, and the first time we all get together for Christmas... all 30 of us.

2) Hanging out with the boys to watch UFC 79 Liddell/Silva & GSP/Hughs. Should be a damn good fight night. Except when its over and all the dudes just look like they wanna fight someone. And then eventually it happens when someone picks a fight with your buddy and you get sucker punched in the jaw by some stupid guy that you have to throw a knee into his chest and then drop his face on the ground.

3) Taking my nephews to go play in the snow. Shovel, boards, lots of snow. No fear. Should be fun.

I'm posting all early cause I got out of work really late, and then got home and knocked out. Slept for about 4 hours and then woke up. Been awake ever since. Ate some cup'o noodles, did some research on video editing software, installed some more software, updated some drivers... and froze my a s s off. It's freakin cold at 3 in the morning! Stupid tilted axis.

Sometimes in life you have to take the bad with the good. And sometimes, the bad ends up being good. This weekend we got snowed in on the wrong side of the Grapevine close to midnight. Do we turn around to backtrack north? Do we take the 2.5 hour option east? Do we park it at the Shell with the other 500 cold, frustrated, and coffee filled travelers? No. We ended up getting a room at the oh so convenient pet-friendly Ramada Inn off the freeway. So instead of getting home late again, we had a nice warm night and didn't have to worry about sliding on black ice into the backside of an 18 wheeler. And the best part was we got to play in the snow!

Oh and the other day I got crabs. And then I gave some to my brother, his girlfriend, and the woman. AND THEY LOVED IT! We also got some craw dads and some shrimp.

And for something different. Camera-ma-phone.

My camera on my phone sucks donkey. But its a phone... with a camera on it, and "not the other way around." So I'm not complaining, I'm just stating fact. Recently I decided to get the "pix" off the phone and onto my computer here. Individually, they have relatively no cohesiveness. Together they represent the recent history of my life. Enjoy the show beetches.

... the old bed.

... the NEW bed.

... we went down to the new Outdoor Bass Pro Super Store out in Rancho. It was freakin awesome. They had everything, including wodland camoflage gift wrapping paper. So that you can really hide your gifts.

JoeMama's birthday was so cool. Just so cool. I had fun. Happy birfday Joe. I won this shirt along with some other fun toys at uWink, the place we took the bus to.

I had this bad boy for at least an hour before one of the kids goes, "What happened to your arm?" By that time it had bleed down to my wrist.

And since I don't have a PSP, I thought I'd entertain myself a different way. A more old fashioned way... for about 20 minutes and then gets freakin boring.

To-go homes.

And finally, what I tell my kids to do at least once a day:

I got lots of stuff to write about. But not right now.

Life is simple when all you want for dinner is a doughnut. Or even just an old tennis ball. My mom tells me these stories about how me and my brothers were so easily entertained by pots and pans, old boxes, and even just rubber bands or something. No need for fancy toys, just a little bit of cardboard and some duct tape and I was set. In fact, I'm thinking of all the cool stuff that I could make right now if I went MacGuyver on just the things on my desk. If I wanted to and if I really had the time, I can totally make some medieval siege weapons with some cardboard, a couple of rubber bands, and some tape. And if I wanted actually hurt someone I got plenty of ideas for these paper clips and thumb tacks. But really, for the holidays I'm not gonna go and hunt down "cool" toys for my nieces and nephews, I'm gonna go get them what I would play with. A ball, or paint, or clay… play dough. Something with endless possibilities… and they're cheap. One time I spent 30 bones on a toy truck for my nephew and 1 dollar on this cheap ball with suction cups on it… guess which one he likes more? What was my point again? Oh yeah, simplicity. Why are things so complicated now that I've sorta grown up?

Me, my sweetheart, and my Dog… and a PSP Slim, an air compressor, computer parts, a new tripod, golf clubs, and Calphalon set. That's all I want for Christmas.
